| Irene Mary Sipp, nee Mika, BA, MA, MAC, daughter of the late
John Mika and Marie, nee Surma, Mika of Chicago, IL; and beloved wife of the late Edmund
F. Sipp, passed away on Oct. 17, 2011 at the age of 91. A bi-lingual counselor, pro-life
activist, life-long student, protector and defender of all human life especially unborn
children. She is survived by her two sisters, Eleanor (Sr. Anne O.C.D.) Mika, Therese
(Michael) Tirpak and the late baby John Henry Mika; and by her six surviving children,
John (Dorothy) Sipp, Virginia "Ginny" (Logan) Tanner, Thomas (Claudia) Sipp,
Philip (Barbara) Sipp, James Sipp, Mary Anne (Robert) Downing and the late Paul Sipp. She
is also survived by her grandchildren, Margret (Jason) Rossi, Andrew, Christopher,
Stephen, Thomas, Paul, Lucas, Sarah, Douglass, Steven, Jennifer (John) Skeffington and
Carolyn and by her great-grandchild, Maliana; she will also be missed by her nieces and
nephews, Raymond (Louise) Stroz, Edward Stroz, Jeannie Stroz, Thomas (Madelyn) Tirpak and
Eva Marie (William) Adams. A wake to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, Oct. 20,
2011, 3 to 9 p.m. at the Sheldon-Goglin-Kaminski Funeral Home, 5935 W. Belmont
Ave., Chicago, IL. Funeral, Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, will begin with prayers at 10:30 a.m.
from the funeral home to Saint Ferdinand Church, 3101 N. Mason Ave., Chicago, IL for 11
a.m. Mass. Interment will follow at Maryhill Cemetery, Niles, IL. In lieu of flowers,
donations may be made to the Womens Center of Chicago or the Carmelite Sisters of
