Witnesses Report on Pro-Death March

Now that the so-called “March for Women’s Lives” has come and gone in Washington, D.C., we have some reports from Pro-Lifers who were eyewitnesses. They were among the 1000 brave souls who were present to share the truth with pro-abortion marchers along eight blocks of their route. On the scene estimates suggest the pro-abortion crowd ranged from 400,000 to 500,000. Since the name and the underlying premise of the so-called “March for Women’s Lives” is a deception (that “legal” abortion is good for women), one could only expect that the organizers would misrepresent attendance as well.  They are making claims as high as 1.15 million marchers. Even most media reports indicated 500,000 marchers.  Whatever, the actual number, although there were a lot of marchers, it was surprising that there were not more since they have been organizing for over a year and they picked a Sunday in the spring when the weather was beautiful.  When Pro-Lifers arrive for the Jan. 22nd March for Life, it is usually bitter cold and a weekday.

David and Daria Skrzypczynski from Chicago area reported, “It was quite an experience to be sure.  They are a very angry, bitter and vulgar crowd.  For 2 1/2 hours we stood and were called every nasty name you could think of.  I believe we were given the middle finger by at least 100,000 people.  Christ assured us that we would be persecuted to stand with Him and we were.  We were grateful for the police protection, as I’m sure there would have been confrontation from the dark side were they not there.  I do know that they all noticed our presence, hearts were touched and some changed.  We do need to pray for many of these young people who are believing a whole list of lies!”

“Though we didn’t walk the whole section Randall Terry had reserved, I think it went as planned. The first block was clergy. We were on a two-block stretch of families with children. There was one block of college students, and a whole block of black men with poster boards about the genocide that is happening to their race through abortion, and trying to expose the truth about Planned Parenthood. Another big section was women who regret their abortions.   Most of us were silent with only a few having megaphones to verbally share the truth.  We did get under their skin, for sure. The only problem with our sidewalk spot was that they started to come at us from behind as well.  We really would have been fearful without such a heavy police presence.”

Kristinn described how the pro-abortion marchers treated a priest. Father Reynolds stood for hours on Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, in front of the Navy Memorial. Other members of the clergy and Pro-Life activists were spread out along the same block. Almost nonstop, he made the sign of the cross with his right arm while speaking to the marchers offering blessings and prayers. The response was nothing short of satanic. Father Reynolds was cursed at and flipped off by hundreds of marchers, many of whom sported Kerry stickers. Many other marchers mocked the sign of the cross. Some denounced God while others denied His existence.

Another witness for life (Annie) described the march in three words: “viciously, mercilessly abusive.” She continued, “The amount of verbal aggression and abuse hurled at me personally, by women and men, of all ages, for carrying the I REGRET MY ABORTION sign, well, I thought that I was ready for it. I wasn’t. Not even close. I consider myself fairly far along on the “healing” and “public-appearances” scales. We stood, all 500 of us in the Silent No More Awareness groups, in total silence as planned, for over five hours, not replying or saying one word to anything that was said or done to us, and I do mean anything.

But nothing prepared me for literally mobs of livid people screaming the most hateful vicious snide things at me personally. We were spit on, and had an egg hurled at us from the marchers. There were two groups of Satanists. And the signs: Like the guy who held a handmade sign, “BABY KILLER” with an arrow pointed downward at himself. If not for the riot police, we would have been mobbed. There was that much viciousness. People broke through the riot police’s invisible line just to come up in my face and hurl insulting words. There were not enough police to form a complete line, so they would run up to me, shout out their abuse, and run back before the police got there to stop them. And I said nothing to anyone, just held my sign. One woman in the midst of the mass of marchers, came over to us, and said, ‘What the hell am I doing out here?’ and asked us to exchange her NARAL sign for one of ours. That’s one conversion to the truth that we know of.” Thanks to all the brave souls who helped plant seeds of truth at this pro-death march.
